- Public Abstract (ETD)
”At the Seams” is a lyric essay drawing connections between female identity, motherhood, and grids as they are found in book design, textiles, and language. I attempt explain my childhood in southern Missouri and my interest in the life and letters of Toussaint Louverture.
The essay is a part of the body of artwork that was shown in February 2020 under the same name. It can be used to support this visual work, but also stands on its own.
