- Public Abstract (ETD)
This Thesis is a culmination of my design work at the University of Iowa. I entered graduate school with my design experience being focused on Light Design. I have since expanded my arsenal to include scenic design and media design. The following will show a large breath of design work that displays the discipline and flexibility of a designer who has explored many areas of theatrical design. This work is portrayed on stage, for the camera, and behind the camera.
During the spring semester of my 2nd year, the University of Iowa went to online instruction during the Covid-19 Pandemic. During the last two and a half semesters of my MFA program Theater as we knew it changed drastically. I used this time to take what I had learned in lighting, scenic, and media design and applied it to videography and editing. This exploration into film brought me into a space where I used the wide range of skills I explored and apply them to singular projects in ways I had not previously.
