- Public Abstract (ETD)
Since the beginning of time, development and advancement have been key pillars of our world since the inception of time. Though gradual, design has progressed with these key elements playing an important role in this effect. The rapid pace of the 21st century has pushed the design industry from beautification to sustainability and problem-solving. Hailing from Ghana, I have been exposed to the importance of sustainability, design, and production critical considerations for any modern designer before creating a product. My background has also impressed me with the value of blending modern and contemporary design.
For my thesis, I am driven to combine repetition and organic shapes to build new design products with the aid of technology software, and problem-solving, while being sustainable and implementing the knowledge and experience I've gained studying 3D design. Through my thesis, I intend to demonstrate how contemporary design aesthetics can be integrated into forward-thinking pieces while considering the concept and the use of software. I aim to synthesize my heritage with my expertise in sculpture and prototyping to produce creative, useful products reflecting both my culture and my commitment to responsible innovation.
