- Public Abstract (ETD)
Fun Home is a contemporary musical based on Alison Bechdel’s graphic novel, Fun Home: A Family Tragicomedy. Directed by John Cameron, the University of Iowa produced this musical as part of its 2017-2018 Mainstage season.
In this thesis, Aubrey Jean Near examines the production process of the University of Iowa’s staging of Fun Home through a stage management lens. Starting with pre-production and moving through performance, this thesis explores all aspects of production. At the conclusion of the thesis, Near reflects on her growth as a Graduate Stage Manager at the University of Iowa.
