- Public Abstract (ETD)
In 1996, Indygo 4O7 left this earthly world on July 4th at Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando, Florida. At the age of 27, she started to make a name for herself in the music industry with her melodic, sultry, and dream-like sounds. Drawing from artists like Erykah Badu, Floetry, Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliot, and Outkast, she was able to bring an ethereal feel to her Neo Soul and Funk enriched music while proudly representing her family and birthplace with the name 4O7. With the help of her manager, Na’ah Gordon, Indygo 4O7 has been collaborating with the top producers and designers for the roll out of her debut album, Into Moriel. While developing this person, there was a lot of thought that went into representing an artist that has passed on. This work will examine the imagery that influenced the development of Indygo 4O7, while analyzing my role as Indygo 4O7’s manager in their afterlife space.
