Lo no importante: Experimentando con poesía documental [That which is not important: experimenting with documentary poetry] is a work of poetry in Spanish which examines the genre of documentary poetry from different approaches and styles. Documentary poetry is based on research and can work in dialogue with sources such as print, broadcast and online news, videos, photographs, and/or old records: all of these sources can become part of a poem.

The poems in this book are based on different kinds of research and documentation. Some work with direct experience and testimonies, while others react to news articles and scientific research. Topics addressed by the poems include language and translation, travel testimonies and diaries, historical, archeological and zoological research, folkloric traditions, and biblical and historical records: besides the experimentation with the form, these poems are concerned with memory and history.

The first section of this poetry collection is an introduction to the wide range of topics mentioned above. The second section focuses on the European and Eastern Mediterranean folklore tradition of “telling the bees”, and the third section examines archeological findings.
