- Public Abstract (ETD)
Technical development and experimentation have driven the first two years of my graduate research. It has been instrumental to expand my understanding of digital and traditional fabrication processes to find opportunities to integrate my design concepts and aesthetics. My intention is to find ways of surprising the audience during their user experience from simple designs that produce wonder, while stimulating the surrounding environment. I want to provide the viewer with a sense of a weightlessness, hovering in space by utilizing a mixture of transparent materials and playful physics. While designing furniture that is both engaging and memorable, I combine distinct profiles with the latest applications technology and cutting-edge materials. Minimal, strong, and efficient, they can be assembled easily without hardware, ready to move about the world with the pace of the user. As a designer I engage my audiences by new combinations that I discover following investigations of the process and playfulness of the mind.
