- Public Abstract (ETD)
My work is foundationally rooted in collage. A collage is intuition meeting discovery. I really crave the discovery part, and how that enriches and confirms my own unique sense of self and identity. Before I was an artist, I was a stage actor and a songwriter. I developed fiction and poetry writing practice. I work almost daily, playing, with paper, glue, clay, glaze, antiques, fibers and textiles, fashion implements, sometimes sounds and music, words, and other bits and pieces, all within self-made limitations, based on intentional pursuit of the relationship between self-revelation and material relationship investigations, making more and more discoveries in consideration of color and composition, the usage of text and language, and how the work is bound to my own story.
