Abstract

In this paper, a simple application of a microprocessor in a linear feedback control system is studied. The system considered is a position control system using a D.C. motor. It is assumed that the load ( or the inertia ) of the system changes slowly but unpredictably. The objective of the system is to use a microprocessor to detect any changes in the external load and make the necessary adjustment in the feedback parameter so that the overshoot to a step input of the system response is kept constant.
