- Public Abstract (ETD)
This project focuses on the translation of philosophy into English. It addresses what it means to translate, more specifically retranslate, Sanskrit Buddhist philosophy for English readers. The introduction addresses some of the salient features of the Sanskrit source text, its philosophical content and context, and some of the translation strategies available to the English translators of this text. The second portion of the project includes a translation of the first chapter of the Sanskrit text.
