- Public Abstract (ETD)
One’s imagination and subconscious mind is paramount and the root of all creativity and truthful action on stage. Each theory I outline in this essay attempts to greater awaken my imagination to the given circumstances and, through the conscious repetition of each step, achieve a rewired subconscious mind. My process is a peculiar morphing, one that uses traditional teachings of Stanislavsky, Linklater, and Grotowski as foundational elements to character development. The approach to each theory is outlined and explained in relation to a central tenet of my personal self-help ideology. At its core, this essay argues that the process of being a good actor is the same as living happy, fulfilled, and motivated in your personal life.
