This collection of prose poems is divided into three parts, intertwined by a subtle narrative thread that connects passages inspired by Iowa City, Madrid, and Mexico, along with the presences they evoke. The fragments are written by a poetic voice that, before attempting to write, first observes. Each poem conveys the urgency of contemplating the present in its brightest moment, always in connection with the lingering echoes of past affections and geographical spaces. The voice lives, remembers, travels, loves, loses, and imagines, while knowing—just as I do—that all these experiences are meant to be transformed into something independent: the poem itself.
