Abstract
Inspired by the Korean diaspora, gender, race, and the hyper-sexualization IN between investigates conceptual art practice reflecting ethnic and gender dynamics through narratives of race and sex. Touching on topics of racial oppression, sexual exploitation, and family abandonment, this essay relives memories through short vignettes of written histories alongside visual work. Children: A Son chronicles these traumas through imagery created from shadow and light, giving tangibility to emotional recalls.
