Abstract
Metal-arene complexes with suitable substituents on the π-bound arene represent a new class of organometallic building blocks for use in supramolecular chemistry. They provide a conceptually versatile avenue for construction of discrete assemblies and extended arrays, as is illustrated by the examples presented in which assembly occurs
via
hydrogen-bonded connections between carboxyl substituents.
