Abstract
Let \mathcal{O}n be the Cuntz algebra generated by s1, …, sn, and let \mathcal{P}(\mathcal{O}n) be the *-sub-algebra of *-polynomials in the generators. We show that if δ is a gauge-invariant derivation mapping \mathcal{P}(\mathcal{O}n) into \mathcal{P}(\mathcal{O}n), and δ is approximately inner, then δ is inner.
