Abstract
Individuals older than 65 compose 20% of the population, and the number of "frail elders" over 85 is expected to increase by 40%.1,2 These older Americans have particular age-related vulnerabilities and often comorbid chronic illnesses.1 Their age alone puts them in a class with others who suffer from health care disparities.
