Abstract

An asymptotic regularization method has previously been used for coefficient identification of a non-homogeneous Helmholtz equation. The method serves the purpose of proving some theoretical results for the inverse problem, but it seems to be impossible to implement it practically. In this paper, we propose and analyse an improved method which is readily implementable. We show various convergence results, and comment on using the new method for actual numerical computations.
