Abstract
With the increasing prevalence of fungal infections, the need for appropriate fungal prophylaxis and treatment is eminent. Concerns with resistance among Candida species has complicated the selection of adequate antifungal therapy. Itraconazole remains a viable option for therapy, but concerns regarding the bioavailability of itraconazole capsules and cyclodextrin solution among a select patient population has in some circumstances, not allowed itraconazole to be a potential treatment option.
