Abstract

Induction of therapeutic mild hypothermia in cardiac arrest survivors has been the only method significantly improving the neurological outcome and likely to reduce mortality. Therefore, intensive care units caring for patients after cardiac arrest should become familiar with the use of this method. The authors propose a protocol of therapeutic mild hypothermia to be used after cardiac arrest. The protocol is based on literary data and the authors own experience with the method.
