Abstract
The advent of the Journal of Agro-medicine has increased interest in the term agro-medicine. This review of agro-medicine describes the unique characteristics of agro-medicine by emphasizing its development as a response to specific barriers, which prevent a unified approach to agricultural health. The agro-medicine model it presented as a useful mechanism for states seeking a cooperative, multidisciplinary resource within their university systems to assist rural communities in improved agricultural health.
