Abstract
Hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated 1 (HCN1) channels are crucial for shaping light responses and localize to the inner segment of photoreceptors. Very little is known about protein trafficking in this compartment. Here, we characterized a novel ER export signal that controls the trafficking of HCN1 to the inner segment plasma membrane.
