Abstract
The VLA has been used as a narrowband spectrophotometer to verify that the 6-cm emission from rotationally excited OH in W3OH is maser emission, and to measure its position. The 4765-MHz emission, like the ground-state emission, arises from gas in front of the compact H II region, apparently falling into it, and is not associated with the nearby H2O maser complex.
