Abstract
Three young adults with Bell's palsy had serological evidence of infectious mononucleosis; one had apparent reactivation of a latent Epstein-Barr virus infection with atypical lymphocytosis and splenomegaly. It is suggested that unilateral facial palsy in association with infectious mononucleosis may represent a mononeuritic variant of idiopathic facial diplegia and Guillain-Barrésyndrome, both of which have also been associated with infectious mononucleosis.
