Abstract
Review of Can a Threshold Limit Value for Natural Rubber Latex Air‐Borne Allergens be Defined?, X Baur, Z Chen, H Allmers, Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, 101, January 1998, 24–27
With concerns and controversies about latex allergies mounting, perioperative nurses have asked many questions about the use of latex in health care. It clearly has been demonstrated in numerous research studies that latex bound with glove powder is aerosolized; however, is this a concern? If so, how much latex in the air is too much? This research study, conducted by German researchers at the University of Bochum, provides an answer to this pressing question.
