Abstract
A computer program is presented that enables a production engineer to determine if a manufacturing system can be divided into subsystems for easier management. This manufacturing mode is termed 'group technology.' The subdivisions include groupings of machines as 'machine cells' and parts as 'part families.' The BASIC program enables the identification of separable clusters in the manufacturing system. The program runs on an IBM PC or compatible.
