Abstract
This paper reviews 22 cases of liver resection that required concomitant resection and reconstruction of the inferior vena cava to achieve adequate surgical margins. Although technically demanding, resection and reconstruction of the inferior vena cava may allow a curative surgical approach to what were previously thought to be unresectable liver tumors.
