Abstract
The Dietary Intervention Study in Children (DISC) is a collaborative clinical trial designed to lower low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol in children with moderately elevated blood cholesterol levels. This article describes the DISC dietary goals and two of the activities from the educational component of the child group sessions as they were presented in the first year of intervention to boys and girls age 8 to 10 years. © 1994 Aspen Publishers, Inc.
