Abstract
In private, they claim that, by passing this medical licensing exam, NPs will be able to independently provide care to anyone anywhere (all ages, all settings, etc); attain hospital privileges, insurance empanelment, and full reimbursement; and put to rest physician claims that NPs are not qualified to practice. The Institute of Medicine has called for all health care providers to be better educated in patient-centered care, interdisciplinary teamwork, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and the application of information technology to enhance care, areas emphasized in the DNP Essentials.
