Abstract
As an increasing majority of humans live in urban environments, cleaning and maintaining the environment means that sustainable design of cities is imperative. This makes the proactive design and assembly of sustainable infrastructure a growing necessity, but such is not yet a commonplace approach. In late 2008, an international group of researchers gathered in New Zealand to discuss the best way forward in this regard, and they report their conclusions here.
