Abstract
The Iowa Dentist Tracking System show that the dentist workforce was relatively stable from 1997 through 2007 but a large number of them will retire in the next decade. The system can be used to understand trends at many levels. The findings reveal how the aging workforce can put a strain on the ability of the public to access dental care.
