Abstract
Stroke is not always a disorder of the elderly, and there are many possible explanations for its occurrence in a young adult. Drs Biller and Adams discuss the most common causes and identify risk factors. They describe tests that are appropriate for diagnosis of the various causes, summarize typical therapeutic methods, and provide a list of procedures that should be included in a complete workup.
