Abstract
ABSTRACTWe report a case of disseminated Scedosporium apiospermum in a young man with chronic granulomatous disease who was successfully treated with surgery, combined antifungal therapy, and granulocyte transfusions. Opportunistic infection with S apiospermum is seen in immunocompromised patients and is notoriously resistant to conventional antifungal therapy. This case highlights the significance of a combination therapeutic approach for invasive opportunistic fungal disease in patients with severe immunodeficiency, such as chronic granulomatous disease.
