Abstract

Summary Intravenous guanethidine enhances the pressor effect of norepinephrine. These experiments show that the increased pressor response in dogs resulted from augmentation of the vasoconstrictor action of norepinephrine rather than from higher blood flow. In humans the increased pressor response was the result of both increased vascular tone and higher flow.
