Abstract
Ventricular output curves were determined, by rapidly infusing Tyrode's solution until a maximal cardiac output was attained, in the control state and after digitalization with ouabain. Digitalization resulted in decreased cardiac reserve and peak cardiac output, due to a reduced peak heart rate without change in the stroke volume response.
