Abstract
•Students face challenges while completing their baccalaureate nursing programs.•This study of persistence provides insight into how BSN students navigated their program.•Students’ background characteristics and academic factors affected their GPA and satisfaction with nursing programs.•Academic support, high quality advising, and promotion of inclusive shared activities are recommended for student success.
