Abstract

We consider rotating configurations of one or more gas balls. We show that under a non-degeneracy condition these structures are structurally stable as solutions of the equilibrium equations, while not making any claims about their dynamic stability. Under a different non-degeneracy condition we show that we can replace the mass points of solutions of the restricted n-body problem by gas balls, if the scale is chosen sufficiently large.
