Exploring the role of writing in science: a 25-year journey

Abstract
This paper addresses some of the research that has been undertaken in the area of writing-to-learn approaches within science education across a 25-year period. Emerging work on the intersection of learning about language through using the language, as the learner lives the language, is discussed. Results from current work is presented to support the discussion.
