Abstract
The use of flexible fiberoptic bronchoscopy is considered an art in anesthesia requiring proper and functional equipment. To master this art one must be able to: recognize tracheobronchial anatomy; distinguish the right mainstem bronchus from the left mainstem bronchus using relative anatomical distances of the airway; and identify the right upper bronchus by visualizing its three orifices (apical, anterior, and posterior.
