Abstract
Currently, optimally precise delivery of intracranial radiotherapy is possible with stereotactic radiosurgery and fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy. We present in this article a review of the underlying basic physical and radiobiological principles of fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy and review the clinical experience for ateriovenus malformations, pituitary adenomas, mengiomas, vestibular schwanomas, low grade astrocytomas, malignant gliomas, and brain metatases.
