“Getting on Board” with AMJ: Balancing Quality and Innovation in the Review Process

Abstract
This article discusses the importance of the editorial review process and the importance of having a fair and effective means of evaluating submitted works. Editors of journals such as the “Academy of Management Journal” (AMJ) must also be careful that in upholding the scientific standards of reliability and validity they don't become so conservative that they sacrifice innovation, variety, and risk taking. The author also outlines the AMJ editorial board selection process that insures the preservation of innovation while maintaining quality.
