Abstract
•Due to its frequently rapid and sometimes lethal progression, GCM diagnosis necessitates a high index of suspicion.•EMB is central to the diagnosis of GCM, and repeat sampling can be necessary when EMB is nondiagnostic despite a highly suggestive clinical context.•The combination of immunosuppressive therapy and GDMT constitute the cornerstone for management of GCM.
