Abstract
A proper understanding of the physical processes involved in singing can greatly enhance a singer's ability to perform effectively. The control of pitch production relies primarily on cricothyroid and vocalis muscle contraction as well as subglottal pressure. Glottal valving regulates lung pressure and allows a singer to control pitch and tone. Diagrams and notes are included.
