Have Workplace and Beautiful Teeth Changed Female Voice Characteristics?

Abstract
Titze presents his arguments why he thinks female voice characteristics have changed over the past half century. He maintains that competition between men and women in the workplace, and in other professional pursuits, have led women to recognize that "female" voice qualities are often the target of negative discrimination. Therefore, they have adapted and affected vocal changes to take on more masculine types of tone and qualities. He also believes that a social issue of physical attractiveness - manifested by a perfect smile and white teeth - have also altered the physical formation of vowels and caused changes in how sounds are emitted from the female mouth.
