Abstract
How hearing, and possibly the loss of hearing, can affect the ability for a singer to sing on pitch is explored. Pitch perception is not only a function of the fundamental frequency of sound, but also of the timbre and the intensity of the sound. In general, hearing loss could make a singer sing "off key," however, the direction of this change would be highly variable across patients.
