Abstract
A report on the task force on hiring and promotion in chemical education related to the professional status of faculty members appointed in chemical education is reviewed. The report was accepted at the April 2008 American Chemical Society meeting emphasizes the continued attention that must be given to professional status of tenure-track faculty in chemical education, and to staff and contract appointees.
