Abstract
We present a framework that integrates real-time statistical process control (SPC) charting with discrete-event simulation modeling. The integrated framework is particularly significant in addressing transition issues arising from the use of new input material during the manufacturing process. A case study based on a medical manufacturing industry process is used to illustrate the approach.
