Abstract
Interplanetary scintillation observations at 410 MHz have been made of 19 steep-spectrum sources identified as variable or probably variable at 365 MHz. Scintillations were detected in 15 of the sources with derived fractions of the source flux in a sub-second-of-arc component ranging from 5% to 100%. Power spectra of the scintillation signals revealed evidence of finite source structure at the level of 0.1-0.2 arcsec in three sources. These sources and those which did not show scintillations are unlikely to be variables at the present time, but in the remaining cases the detected compact components could be the loci of variability activity.
