Abstract
The article describes the Iowa Children and Family Collaborative, formed to improve outcomes for women who are pregnant and their children when parental substance use is present, and its successes, challenges and outcomes, providing an example of cross-system collaboration to improve child and family outcomes. Topics include the theoretical framework, the evaluation methods for pregnancy screens and children's assessments and the SART system, used as an integrated service delivery approach.
