This article reports results from a retrospective pilot study of the life activities of simultaneous pancreatic/renal transplant patients. Using the Iowa Transplant Activities Questionnaire, successful transplant subjects were compared to failed transplant subjects and both groups were compared before and after transplant. Successfully transplanted patients reported fewer diabetic complications, but few changes were noted within either group before and after transplant. Recommendations for future research and practice are set forth.
