Abstract
Children born with clefts of the lip and palate present many challenges requiring multidisciplinary interaction. Although not as dramatic as some of the other aspects of overall treatment from birth to adulthood, management of impacted teeth is an integral part of the therapy contributing to successful rehabilitation. Proper application of intercep-tive orthodontics, timing, meticulous surgery, careful reapproximation of tissues, and management of impacted teeth are mandatory to ensure the balanced growth of cleft structures leading to a well-proportioned adult facial profile.
